UC is in the news and in the White House? This week we saw telemedicine take the national stage, Vyopta increase it’s all-star team, Skype for Business is on everyone’s lips, and a new e-book rolled out! It’s Friday so you know what that means: it’s time for us to share the UC news you may have missed this week.

 UC + Telemedicine | The VA’s new app tried to reach vets wherever they live

Telemedicine has made an appearance in these blog posts from the beginning—and for good reason. The next big thing in UC & collaboration is telemedicine’s ability to bridge the location gap and bring medical care to people who have historically gone without. This week the VA unveiled its new telemedicine initiative and showed of their new tech to the President: a tool that will be offered by 300 medical providers at 67 VA hospitals and clinics across the U.S., with plans to expand to more places.

The tech that helps bring this together? vAnalytics! That’s right, we’re honored to be working with the VA to provide them a centralized, comprehensive platform so they can monitor, optimize, and track adoption of the calls and services they’re helping to provide. It feels good to do good and we couldn’t be prouder of the work we do with the VA.

If you’ve had your ear to the ground for the past few months you’ve heard the increasing rumble of Skype for Business. Now offered as part of the Microsoft 365 suite, more and more companies have begun to adopt Skype for Business as their main messaging tool. TechTarget added Skype for Business to their WhatIs section—signaling that we’re going to be hearing a lot more about this evolved form of the Microsoft Lync Server in the weeks and months to come.
